MP - Anything good about it other than looks?

Post » Wed Sep 29, 2010 4:19 pm

The more we list the issues the more I can't find anything to like anymore, I'm on the verge trading the game in after the travesty of the rebooting my suit. Even the rose tinted glasses of fanboyism are not enough to hide the mess that is this game.

Other than it looks nice and decent guns I can't see anything I like. Everything on this game barely works. The only thing that works is SP and even then the enemies are stupider than anything I've ever seen on any game. COD enemies were considerably more difficult to defeat in the higher difficult settings than this and at least they acted in a way not befitting of a mental asylum. The Halo enemies were better as well, at no point did I think their stupid.

Everyone the problems are become more and more apparent - I find something new everyday.

Everyone let out their anger and hate on this thread. Let them know how you feel. I would report them to Trading Standards but I don't know if I have a leg to stand on.

I will say that the grain glitch on single player has made me want to get my money back somehow. It's infuriating.

The whole point of re-booting the suit is to have you sacrifice something in order to gain virtual 'prestige'. If you want it, you have to give it all up. If you don't and you are content with all the stuff you have, you really don't need to re-boot the suit, nobody forced you, dude.

You must obviously start of as a newcomer with absolutely nothing to start with, that is the whole point of the "re-boot". You can't complain about it.

Now, I don't know if the feature is supposed to erase your stats and all but something like that is greatly insignificant to the amount of enjoyment I have received from the game. If it is indeed a bug and you feel the need for it to be viewed by a Crytek employee, post it in the "bugs" thread stickied at the top of the forum.

If you made it far enough to prestige in this games multiplayer i commend you... for me its too inconsistent to really enjoy and put a lot of time into. Obviously if you made it that far you mustve had a different experience.
As for single player i think the ai is pretty smart for a shooter and honestly is on a total different level from any cod which i just breeze through. Halos ai is better than cod but the ai still doesnt work together in a squad like cell soldiers do in crysis 2... just my opinion though.

The game is so much fun, in Free For All! That's all I play! Sadly, the Team Deathmatch isn't so great. Everyone seems to split up so much, and since the gameplay balance is off... But, I can say that giving it some time, and playing Free For All, will give you an awesome experience! I thought the single player, was a work of art! You can really tell from the details, how much the developers worked on this title. They did a fantastic job, but they lacked on the multiplayer aspect. Its hard to hate, but Multiplayer is so important, and should have been the main focus, than the Campaign.

That's how I see it...

What are your thoughts?

Unfortunately, you don't get virtual prestige as the emblem is the same colour as every other and looks the same. There is no way of knowing what prestige a person is, no way. COMPLETELY DEFEATIST.

It tells me before prestiging that I would keep my stats, when I prestiged = no stats.

Now I've spent the past 6 hours trying to get in my level 20's so that I can get modules that allow me to move 10ft before recharging, suffering with a horrible 2 kd in the process. This is not fun at all, wasn't bad first time round because everyone was similar level to me but now everyone has superior equipment and modules and since I can't move barely at all I'm a sitting duck.

I agree, the fun factor may outbalance this disappointment but the lag is so bad and no-one I play with says that they have great connections consistently, a good connection is an exception. I like the game but there are too many things bogging it down. Sick of it. Gonna wait for the patch before I play it again, if they keep picking someone 10000 miles a way as host that has dialup connection like they keep doing now. I'm trading it in for something that works.

I have to agree mate. I'm glad I only paid £30 for the game, so if it comes to having to sell it I can get my money back.

I can only really stand playing it in short bursts because aspects of the glitchy gameplay start to irritate quite quickly. I loved the game during beta as glitches and problems were acceptable, but to see that the final release has just as many problems is disheartening.
I feel bad because as a huge Crysis 1/Warhead fan I had high hopes for this game.. I encouraged my friends to get it and now theyre pissed off because it's so flawed. Single player looks good, but the crazy AI does pull you out of the experience... the MP is just a laggy mess where skill is secondary to how you fare in the connection lottery.

I'm holding out for the patch.. though they seem to have managed to screw that up somehow, with all the current confusion surrounding it.

ps. are you the guy who did the weapon pro video? If you are then you should make a video about the MP problems.. I havent seen a high quality one yet. It might help in silencing some of the blind fanboys :P

It has its problems but I like the concept and the ideas aswell as the game modes and maps so I can forgive the games hiccups for the fact that its totally different to any FPS out there right now i.e Bad Company 2, Black Ops.

Im not syaing the problems dont annoy me but I can still enjoy this game, it definetely still has its moments but armour mode just seems like a gimmick and stealth play dominates the game.

I commented on the Weapon Pro video on this forum but was another guy that did it. I wouldn't sit there and slander them on a video on a 10-15min video, doesn't seem right and I will probably get myself in trouble.

CryAdam has acknowledged another post of mine and is forwarding my suggestions/fixes to the developers so this might sort out everything relating to rebooting.

I have now heard that we have already had our patch and those patch notes were the 3mb file we have a few days ago. This didn't help me at all, the game is the same, perhaps worse. If they sort out the connections, rebooting and strange music I will be fine.

Couldn't agree more with this game growing old fast. Half of the MP content will never be used. Shotguns are awful, one of the two sniper rifles svck. You really are left with the choice between the scar, scarab and one sniper rifle to use. The grendel for those of you who are good with burst guns. So possibly four guns total?

Nano Recharge is really the only good armor module. Stealth only has two, stealth enchance and cloak tracker. Cloak tracker is pretty terrible too... covert ops would be good if this game's sound quality wasn't ****.

Power modules are no different. Retriever seems ok, but it's **** since the kill streaks aren't very good anyhow. So you're left with mobility enchance, aim enchance and weapon pro. Weapon pro is terrible with any weapon that doesn't have a long reload. Aim enchance is only good at level 3 for the faster ADS movement since none of the guns have any real recoil anyways. So mobility enhance is really the only useful mod in 90% of situations.

The whole cloak/armor suit abilities **** was good for about 3 hours of gameplay. After that it just becomes a choir and an annoyance to your enemies. What's fun about running around on a huge map with a ton of stealthers? Nothing. Stealth is terrible for MP games.

Game modes? Yea right. Extraction and Assault both svck. Hard enough playing extraction when it keeps putting you in the FFA playlist but it svcks anyways. CTR is just another **** CTF with the same game rules as COD, it's garbage. So you're left with deathmatch and crash site. Oh boy. Crash site is good tho, I can't complain about that one too much.

And finally.... the maps.... most of them are the **** single player campaign maps. None of the maps are designed with objectives in mind. They're just big ass areas that were thrown into MP. There's 90 different routes you can take to get anywhere. There's no choke points, hot spots, nothing.

If classic mode doesn't change my perspective of MP this game goes back to the store

I wouldn't sit there and slander them on a video on a 10-15min video

There would be nothing at all slanderous about a high quality, short (1-2 minute max) video that clearly demonstrated the common issues people are having with multiplayer. It would be a hell of a lot more effective than sifting through pages and pages of forum threads... and it would do a lot to reduce the amount of inflammatory and useless remarks that come from people who don't have any issues with their game.

In an ideal world, everyone would have capture devices hooked up to their consoles just for the purpose of reporting bugs. I'm sure that would make life a hell of a lot easier for game developers.

It would take 10-15 min to demonstrate all their issues, trust me lol

I would love to make a video, unfortunately I don't have a capture card. I think I could explain everything that' going on well. But I do want to start posting videos of my gameplays for fun and offering tips/tricks on youtube so might buy one in the near future.

the Team Deathmatch isn't so great. Everyone seems to split up so much,

I think it would help if they started the game with everyone on your team spawning in the same area, might help being organized from the start. Also they should make party members a different color so you can find them easier.

Or the devs could get their ass onto these forums to see for themselfs the problems people are having. Not being funny but Cry-Adam didnt even know what a nano-suit reboot is....he's the PR manager for a game he knows nothing about. theres no in game stats connected to your profile on this site either or if there is i have seen no stats or leaderboards that i can use to compare my friends stats. I think im going to keep this game till Brink comes out then a swift trade in is in order. Also theres more patches and updated info on the PC section of this site....why do them NORGS get more attention? You better have a good excuse for letting this carry on for so long because im sick to death now. Ive been on this site everyday and theres **** all info about whats being done to sort these problems. I invested my money and i DEMAND a response. If none is given ill go through the proper channels to get you done for misleading me into buying a broken product...and believe me i will. Its just stupid...all these problems and people threatening to ignore this game and not a single sorry. How many people are managing this whole site? If its just Cry-adam and Cry-Tom then its not on. Stats reset, lag, music problems, random crashes, campaign **** ups....everything everyone said before.......wheres the help
