Apocalypse - Survivalobjective mod

Finally got more work in over the weekend. This is currently on dusty8 but I want to port it to Wasteland 1 whenever it gets released or if someone has made a big open map to play around in.

Currently the objectives are to survive and find the required items to get the monarch working. (Currently you need 5 elecrical wire kits)

Monarch related Items are randomly spawned in the most out of sight places but all are accessible on foot and don't need special vehicles or glitching out.

Weapons are not randomly spawned and have definite locations although that might change as i work through this.

Ammo or inventory items are not in yet but they will be randomly spawned in obscure locations, screwing you a little further

All Apocalypse mod changes will carry over to this along with new AI changes to make mutants a little faster and everyone else more durable.

Saw the video, I think I understand the concept but I'm not quite sure.
So this is a real survival mod, right? You are in the wasteland and have to scavenge around for everything, with enemies around and all?

Or is the scavenging/scouting just something that would be on the side, optional?

Yea sorry the video isn't clear about the idea. Yes it is a survival mod but unlike DayZ there is an objective. You need to fulfill that objective and scavenging is optional but you will need it to survive. Right now i'm just playing around with idea and the tools to refine it further so that when I do get my hands on a larger more open map or Wasteland1 I'll be able to implement it fully.

Sounds great. It would be great to get a custom map built for the mod...

I do remember a comment about id not expecting anyone to be producing another Wasteland with the toolkit - I might (hope) be wrong.

I have been using the lwo rock models for mountains/hills in the near background. I don't see why we couldn't come up with a map.

I've been working on a new map. It's going to be a race track but I'm sure it could be used for other things to. Here's a couple of screenshots from modo.

@Flipout Nice that map looks great.

Yea i'm a programmer so I'm mostly going to have to rely on the community for maps. I know how to make one but ones I make are not going to be the greatest.

So if you look at the map I've linked. Red represents areas where player use Items\objective related items spawn. The Items have a random spawner, so their location will always be different.

Blue represents faction areas. So all the different areas are taken over by the different bandit factions. With the bridge being controlled by the Authority. Mutants will randomly spawn either helping you get out of an area unnoticed or screwing you over even further when you might already be trying to escapes bandits.

The green lines represent conflict paths. Every once in a while there will be AI that assaults another factions area. This will help keep something happening in the wasteland. Plus I feel Rage only showed Faction versus mutant interaction, I want to try to show bandit clan vs bandit clan interaction, Authority vs bandit clan too. The bridge in between is a good place. The Authority will have to interact with multiple bandit clans at once.

Nice job! Glad to see RAGE fans work. At first I downloaded RAGE toolkit I was searching about some forums - nothing! Than I find this forum - and - yeah - you know the theme!
