Apparently I have to pay twice in order to play SWTOR

I've just bought the game in a retail store (because origin didn't let me pay with paypal), and redeemed my game code.On my account page it says I have 29 days of play time remaining.
But (here comes the catch) I'm required to subscribe to the game or redeem a game code in order to play those 30 days I have already paid for. Which, considering the game will probably be F2P in a month, doesn't benefit me in any way. I've contacted the customer support, I'll see what say can say about the matter. I don't know If this is common MMO practice, this is my first try at a subscription based MMO.

Just a note to those thinking about giving this game a try because of the price drop before it goes F2P.

We already have a threat about SWTOR.

Also, it requires a credit card be registered, but they don't actually bill you until after the 30 days are up. You can input your credit card, finish registering the game, and then immediately remove the payment information.

And finally, F2P is likely coming sometime in December.

It's going freemium later this year.
