Appearance Customization

By far my favorite part of any MMO is the customization of armor, weapons, clothing, facial and hair mods, etc. Appearance customization is what usually becomes my end-game in any MMO, striving to find the most rare/sought after alterations to my characters appearance will be what drives me to earn more money, to trade, and to go through raid after raid in order to have the chance of receiving a much sought after piece of equipment. You have your basic armor types and materials in the ES, but they aren't all that extensive comparable to many other MMOs (In my opinion, feel free to prove me wrong). Does anybody else want armor/weapons that are largely customizable? Such as attaching bone fragments, spikes, capes, etc. to armor and then being allowed to paint (or dye) said armor? Or being allowed to find different parts to attach to weapons such as new handles or cosmetic enchantments? Also seeing how I enjoy the ES lore, but am no where near an expert, would armor customization fit in with lore? Just was wondering about other people's thoughts about cosmetic character appearance/if you think it will play a role in ESO.

I pretty sure there's no reason for the lore in get in the way of customising the physical appear of the armour, so long as the smith was skilled enough to say, modify Daedric armour. You could improve armour in Skyrim so it could be a possibility to expand later on.
I know for a fact that ZOS did recognize interest in dyeing armour and clothes but they said it wasn't going to be a feature in place come launch which is fine. There's more important things to get right before launch than adding it glue and glitter to their creation.

I'm right there with you! The look of my character is MASSIVELY important to me. I'd love to see as much customization options as there can be. And while i love your idea with decorating existing armor with bone fetishes, feathers, custom paints and all that (AWESOME IDEA!) I'd also like to see the Cosmetic Armor and Weapons slots, so say if I liked a set of armor from level 5 for example, I can replace my mandatory stats lvl 10 armor's look with the older set for appearance.

I think armor customization makes sense is any lore or environment, as long as it's not something as rediculous as jeans and baseball caps in a medieval environment. For that I will NEVER stand and that is usually a game insta-quit for me.

One 'o the things i enjoy much is the creation of my character, in almost every game i play!

Really looking forward to it, and i shall likely spend a long really long time shaping my character...
