I guess I also read that light armor would be more beneficial to mages/what-not because it would add bonus' to magic users or w/e. So I guess there would be a downside to mixing armors of different weights depending on your class. On the other hand it could be benificial to those that were making dynamic classes i.e. tank/healer, tank/mage, etc.
I'm still interested that if you had half light armor and half heavy armor would your base armor rating/defense (if that's a stat) be equal to that of a character with all medium armor?
Aesthetically customizing your character seems like a total necessity in an MMO. Lord knows I don't want to see 1,000x people that look exactly like me. I wonder how they will allow for all the glass armor users, etc., to look different from one another? Dyes, Armor Enchantments, Crafting Mechanics...
I'd like to also reiterate that in the video interview with the game director he mentioned that appearance customization could be had by wearing different types of armor, so, again, it seems like two light armors like leather and glass would have to be equal in defense assuming the character had the same experience in each... Leads me to think that there won't be some of the taken-for-granted stats on items like base defense. *Maybe leather and glass are equal in all but how 'light' they actually are. **Maybe they bring back carrying capacity and how it affects movement speed.
