I've just arrived at Winterhold and got the quest to find the book Arcana Reforged. Now my problem is that I've already found the book, have it in my inventory, yet find no way to give the book to the quest giver. On the map, the quest arrow points to the chest where I found it, yet I've gone back and it's still empty. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Got the book on an earlier quest in Bleak Falls Barrow, now I can't give the book to the quest giver. I have tried revisiting Bleak Falls, but no luck - the quest won't advance. I guess I will forever have "Arcana Restored" in my inventory.

Are you on PC? The only way to clear the quest is through console commands, im afraid.

Yes, you need to fix it through console. Check the UESP on the fetch books quest for Winterhold if you're on pc, otherwise you'll have to either reload to a save prior to you getting that book, or leave the whole quest line unfinished. :/

I'm on the 360, so no console for me... Not really a big deal, just hate having loose ends running around. There is no way I am going back to before I got the book - Bleak Falls barrow was one of the first things I did. I will remember this for my next run through.
