Arcane University crashes

Whenever I enter the arcane university the game frequently crashes while inside, what's worse is that it will crash every time without fail whenever I attempt to exit the arcane university through the gate.



The place is a bit bugged as the walkways beneath the two iron gates flanking the tower are missing.



Please help, I'm unable to continue the Mage's Guild quest because I have to retrieve my staff there to continue.

All of them. Whenever a user encounters a mod issue we always need to see the mod list.

Yes a listing of all mods and the load order. It also helps us to know if you are using a mod manager like OBMM, NMM, Wyre Bash, etc. Are you using Boss/Loot to sort mods.

That is not your load order. That is a list of your mods in alphabetical order. The game loads your mods in a different order than you have listed here. Knowing the actual order in which the game loads your mods is crucial in fixing mod-related problems.



With that said, make sure that your Better Cities mods load last. Other mods first, then Better Cities. Better Cities is very finicky about that. I suspect that may be the cause of your problem.



Also, with that list you should think seriously about using http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/22368/? to create a Bashed Patch. A Bashed Patch will help resolve many conflicts (especially between Oscuro and other mods) and make them behave as they were meant to behave.

Pseron is right, that's not your load order. The game would not run in alphabetical order with those mods. I'd suggest downloading BOSS and running it on your load order. And I agree with Pseron that you should be using Wrye Bash.

I'm using Oblivion Mod Manager and it loads the Better Cities Resources esm last of the esm's



I've also put all the Better Cities esp's at the very end of the load order

Update, it no longer crashes at the Arcane University! I think it's due to my computer getting a new graphic card. Overall it runs smoother as well.

Glad it is working for you. I'd still recommend running BOSS on your load order, expecially given the number and complexity of the mods you are running. With that many mods you should at least have them sorted properly even if you don't want to bother with a bashed patch. The immediate crashing may have stopped by just moving Better Cities down, but sorting according to BOSS can make it run better and maybe avoid crashes and other issues in the future.
