So I installed Arcanum and tried to launch it, but the intro cinenamtics is pitch black and when I start the game the screen (apart from the HUD) is frozen, the arrow doesn't show but I can (through wild guessing) click the buttons on the lower panel, although nothing seems to happen.

Any idea of how I can fix this screen problem?

I got the ingame screen to work, but I still can't see cinematics, they're all blacked out, I can hear them, but not see them.
Anyone know how to fix it?

You may have more luck asking at the GoG forums themselves, it doesn't look like anyone here knows.

I'm assuming you're on Win7? Tried the usual compatibility modes for XP etc?

I think I had similar issues at first, but the fan- and hires-patches fixed it for me.

Could also try adding "-no3d -doublebuffer" to the shortcut.

Did you install the game to the default location, or one you specified yourself?
