Archery is a combat skill?

Is archery considered a combat skill? Does archery get a bonus from the +20% xp to combat skills stone?

I ask because I saw a archer guide that suggested taking the thief stone :/

Some of the skill stone associations aren't very clear. For instance, I'm pretty sure Light Armor and Alchemy fall under Thief, despite the former being combat-oriented and the latter being something that is normally associated with wizards (at least as much as it is with poison making). I usually end up taking the Lover stone because of it.

Archery is definitely a combat skill and is covered by the warrior stone.

Archery is a combat skill. The only way to cause damage using only stealth skills is to brew poisons and pickpocket them onto people.
