Am I a warrior or a thief play style? I am only lvl 9 so I just started, but dont know if I should be raising stats in sneaking and pick pocketing and also what about raising stats in Light armor or heavy armor.

If you're going for thief, you want light armor. Warrior most preferably heavy armor. If I'm not mistaken, Archery is considered warrior play style, but that didn't stop me from leveling up Archery.

As has been said, just do exactly what you want to do, there is no predefined limitations.

He may be talking about choosing perks. With only 49 available you need to choose wisely.

Haggis, that is kinda what I mean. As in what benefits the play style of a archer (I should add this, I have been playing games like this for years 15 + and have never played as a archer or thief. I have always done the mage, tank, or the hybrid of the two. And as everyone knows they are a pretty straight forward on what you need to invest on them). So that being said for those of you archers out there what do you think best optimise a archer?

If you are going to play as an archer/thief the sneak perk that gives 3x damage to archery whern hidden is key.

i play as a archer, assassin, mage hybrid. i am primarily a range assassin but will pull out the knife if the situation allows for it. i only use destruction for when the crap hits the fan and i use alteration and illusion for support.

Yea I'm currently a pure mage, but it really doesn't fit my playstyle honestly. I find myself sneaking around and using my bow even as a pure mage LOL. Don't ask. I think I'm going to start over (only level 9 right now), and go archer/thief style.

I'd say it's pretty darn useful for a fighter but with the perk in sneaking it's just plain awesome for stealthy types.

Definitely get the sneak bow perk. I use Conjuration to supplement my Rogue. It would def be beneficial if Archery is your main attack method. Ive been leveling One-Handed more than archery just by the way I play, but, if you are strictly using your bow for combat it would help to have some sort of distraction.

Archery + sneak is insanely overpowered. You can take out bosses from the shadows without them being able to even see you. But to get sneaking to that overpowered state takes a while, so you will need to do a lot of sprint kiting as well as have a reliable healing source for when you do get hit. I went for a ranger: archery + restoration + sneak + light armor. I'm also doing alchemy but don't think I'll perk it unless I have spare points eventually. Only problem is that the game becomes too easy, but you can always choose to not sneak against the more challenging foes whenever you're in the mood for kiting.

IMO it's overrated, anything that's going to be a significant challenge you'll have to pump quite a few arrows into anyway, and regular bow sneak attacks pretty much kill or almost kill anything else.

Although if you're going all the way to the last sneak perk that lets you drop combat, then it'd definitely be worth it.

I think I read earlier that for every 100 times you use your bow you increase the skill by 1 point.
this may not be true, but it would be a way of making you level according to your actions in game.
