Are Bethesda stupid? Marriage and other stuff..

So i was playing skyrim and met some woman wanted me to get her some salts. I happened to have the salts and gave them to her. Then i got the option to marry her. I was thinking "why not?" so i said yes and fast travelled to the only church in the country that did marriage, pressed the wait button and four people that i did missions for also came. Anyways the woman said yes and then i said yes and as soon as i said yes everyone thought the wedding finished and began to walk out. I was so underwhelmed with my 5 minute marriage that i started killing everyone in the city till the game crashed. I am not sure if a real life marriage would be different for me..

Thing is.. i think most of skyrim consists of "iv got an IDEA" but nobody ever fleshes anything out or play-tests it or balances it..

If you had stayed married, your wife would give you 100 gold a day just because. Also if you sleep with them you get health bumps.

...or marriage was never supposed to be one of the main selling points of the game?

But what's the point of having it in at all? It's probably worse than the fetch quests!!

Exactly. If Skyrim was a person it would fall over if it tried to sit down :P

Cool story. Wish you would have fleshed it out a little though. Felt a bit short and linear.

Yeah, for that matter, why have ANY quests other than the main quest. Why bother giving us options other than he main storyline, anyway? Hell, why allow us to even go to other cities if all that means is doing things that aren't the main point of the game?

Decoration was never supposed to be the main selling point of McDonalds either, yet they at least try to make them look decent...

You know, a bit more emotion in certain parts of the game wouldn't hurt a bit... heck, the whole game could needs some, the only ppl who have showed anything different than the usual emotionless expression were Alduin and Astrid...
Spoiler
Only when they were dying, that is...
