Are corpses ruining anyone else's big moment?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 6:41 am

So I had Uthgerd the Unbroken as a companion for a little while and decided she was too ugly to be associated with my beautiful little argonian mage so I fireball'd her a few times and went about my business. I go to get married and guess who one of my wedding guests is? Uthgerd, her naked and dead corpse slumped by the door. My guests and wife all said "I never want to see you again" and left. I tried reloading, hard reseting my console, nothing works. I even tried skipping my wedding completely but turns out my bride to be hates my guts for skipping the wedding and I can't get remarried even though I was never married to begin with :cryvaultboy:

Anyone had this problem/know how to fix it?

it sounds like the fact you murdered her with your own spells despite no witnesses permanently marks you for bachelorhood bro. Since I heard you cannot divorce in this game, you will have to find a way to get rid of her that doesn't directly connect her death to you. I hear the easiest way to do this is finding a "friendly" Giant to "accidently" step on her.

killed her waaaaaay at the beginning of my playthrough so I can't go back now. :sadvaultboy: You're right even though I killed her out in the woods with no witnesses everyone seems to know I did it.

Same thing happened to me.. Killed her with my blades after she turned on me, got married many days later and she was lead naked by the door.

Heh, this reminds me of the Oingo Boingo song "Dead Man's Party" somewhat. A few of the lyrics are "It's a dead man's party / Who could ask for more / Everybody's coming / Leave your body at the door" Hmph. Blast from the past.

It sounds like a Tales from the Crypt episode.

Well at least NPCs get some say so in your actions. I like it better that way then me being able to do whatever I want in a game with no repercussions whatsoever.

Wow, suddenly I'm glad I killed Lydia after I married Onmund.

FWIW, though, I also killed the Unbroken woman before I got married- before I even met Onmund or Lydia, actually-, but that was entirely by accident and in the middle of a firefight with some bandits. I guess the game reads that differently?

There's actually a funny video of this floating around on YouTube. It's a sad bug so I guess when I get married I best not kill him lol.

Oh my god! I don't think I've ever laughed this hard at one of these "Divorce" threads; even though this isn't a divorce thread per se but its still completely hilarious.

Just RP it this way, when you murdered her in the forest you thought you were alone. Unfortunately for you, there was a hunter near by that actually witnessed it. He went on his way until he had heard about your getting married so, he ventured back into the forest to retrieve the body where he then "left" it at the church for all to see as a warning to would be brides that you are a cold blooded murderer. Now, having your marriage ruined you can go on your own little "hunt" and destroy every hunter you happen upon for ruining your life.

The RP explanation, she wasn't quite dead and stumbled in on the wedding with her dying breath - you monster ;)

(what? - it works xD)
