Are the blocky shadows part of the texture bug?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 6:16 pm

I've heard a few other people mention this problem on here before, but I am wondering exactly how prevalent it is and if it is indeed part of the texture glitch. I've been playing off the disc but that doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Do the shadows in your game look really blocky and flickery?

Mine are the same but they don,t bug me as much as the textures. Hopefully they are all related and can be fixed, but the textures first!

My shadow's are blocky and flicker quite a lot, if this is how shadows are actually supposed to look in this game then i would rather have them off as they look silly.

It's not related to the texture bug people are having.

Blocky shadows? Is this the first ever time you played any game on 360? Well, it must be... And they flicker because of the sun moving.

No, it's not the first time, not even close. And these are by far the worst looking shadows I have ever seen in a 360 game. They literally look like minecraft blocks. Once and a while, they look pretty good, which is how I know something is amiss.

Blocky shadows are to be expected on Xbox 360. I've never seen a game that does shadows well. It's not related to any technical bugs, it's just the way it is.

I'll tell you one thing that distracted me about the shadows cast by trees and houses etc: Instead of the shadows moving gradually with time, they instead jump to the next point in time every 20 seconds or so. Have I explained that well? The shadows are being recalculated every 20 seconds instead of moving in real time.
