Are there any friendly forts in Skyrim?

So far all of the forts I've encounter are filled with enemies, just wondering has anyone come upon a fort that isn't filled with bandits or mages, but friendly NPCs instead?

Not sure about that, but Fort Greymoor filled with friendly Imperials shortly after I wasted the bandits living there.

Some of the forts will be remanned by friendlies after you clear them out.

This is new to me, I'll definitely check out some of the forts I've clear to see these "friendlier" NPCs. Thanks!

For me the friendlies only came after...

Spoiler
Civil war quest lines where you cleared out some forts and then your faction moves in

I just randomly cleared the fort on the road to Winterhold without ever starting that quest line and it had changed to friendlies when I passed by it another time. I think it all needs is the 30 days to respawn after being fully cleared (including the interior rooms) and it updates.

So after 30 days in-game then those forts will respawn with friendlies?

Only certian forts. Some will just refill with more enemies.

The game is just full of bandits and you will rarely find a friendly cave or fort. Bandit killing is a pass time in this game. :P

When you do the civil war quests the forts you take will be friendly.

I've always thought you're forced to pick the wrong sides in the civil war - the bandits have clearly already won it as they hold all the strategic forts, several controlling major roads, while the Stormcloak and Imperial forces rough it in the woods. Still, at least this way you get to have swordfights in castles.

There is a cave full of Foresworn that are friendly if you do a certain quest a certain way.

It is kind of weird to talk to them for once.

Bah, it's sad to know, sometimes I come upon a fort after a long, tiring journey just to be attacked by strong bandits..
That's why I wish there are some friendly forts that allow travelers to rest/eat (I know there are villages, but forts can be a nice change.) -- without doing certain quests.

I've just started civil war quests, I'm looking forward to find those friendly forts now.

I have done the quest with friendly forsworns, (but not in caves yet) and yes I agree, it's weird talking to them instead of trying to chop their heads off.

One of the first forts I cleared out not too far from Whiterun was later filled with Stormcloaks. They still weren't all that friendly but they didn't attack me at least.
