They are at least monitoring the complaints on various message boards. I have seen a couple of official responses. I can't imagine they are unaware at this point. Whether they will fix it or not.. who knows?

Why wouldn't they? Its not supposed to do that. Does anybody notice ANY texture popping in ANY of the preview videos? No? Then its not supposed to do that, or they falsely advertised the product.

Considering they've had 5+yrs to work on this game I don't think they even considered the blur as a problem, so a patch doesn't bode well at this point.

Of course they will patch this game. I don't know of a single mainstream PC game that has come out that didn't get at least 1 patch.

If this texture streaming problem reared it's ugly head in testing the PC version, it's doubtful that they would release it to the masses like that. Who could stand looking at that for 5 years of development time. It could be a problem that arose in the final build and they didn't test it on enough systems to catch the bug. Or, maybe my computer just svcks and auto-detect knows that and punishes me for it.

It can't be a coincidence that it's also happening on the consoles, all the more to make me think they've either known about it throughout development and just ignored it, OR, it is in fact an unforeseen problem. I watch the trailers, and all the demos they've made on press events (E3, etc...), and never notice this issue, neither did the people they were demonstrating it to on stage (unless they were short sighted). So I'm mad as hell I've spent 60 bucks on false pretenses.

I have notice the texture popping, but in addition to that I also; I can see individual squares outlined on the ground and on every character. And, enemies and certain characters will sometimes have a ghost image, in the same spot as them, but in a different position. I'm sure they will be releasing a true high resolution pack and other updates. This hasn't even been out 24 hours... at least here.

To suggest ID knew about these problems and ignored them is kind of ridiculous. Nobody wants negative press except for Hollywood celebs that are known for it. This launch has put ID in a fairly negative light. More so than Doom 3 and Quake 4 which were both disappointing titles to true ID fans.
