Hi,
Im still a nooby level 5 and im on the quest where you have to go into Thalmor Embassy.
I manage to sneek in with Malmor but when i got to the chest, my items and equipment arent in there??????
Even though he keeps saying take your items from the chest???
And because of this, i cannot get away because im such a noob they kill me 1 hit.
Can you help and tell why they arent in there?
This is on SKYRIM PS3.

Go to your quest log and read the current objectives for the quest. I don't know if it would effect anything or cause your problem, but perhaps you missed something you were supposed to do and you need to complete the task to move forward. I have no idea if that would be an issue but it's the only thing I can think of.

Also, what's the name of that particular quest.

The quest is called Diplomatic Immunity

Not really sure what to tell you about your items because I have never seen that glitch, but does your character use any magic? That could help you deal with enemies until you get a weapon from one of them. The fire spell you start with should do the trick if anything.

In any case I hope you are able to get your stuff back.

It sounds like a bug. I'd suggest trying to reload a save from prior to talking to Delphine about infiltrating the embassy.

Yep, I remembered it was Diplomatic Immunity. One of the better quests in the main questline.

I've been looking for some known bugs and here's all I found that somewhat resemble your current issue.. -

- The chest where you retrieve your items may not have your items as the door leading into the room may glitch making Malborn unable to lock the door. Even restarting the quest may not help it. If it doesn't help, once you kill all the Thalmor soldiers in the first room on the left take the gear and weapons they have.

- People who have downloaded the game on Mac through a port may find that they cannot retrieve ANY gear at all from Delphine upon completion of this quest, so put it in a chest in your home.

- Some items may not be returned by Malborn or Delphine. These include: Stolen gold, Dragon Masks, some heavy armor, the weapon Chillrend, and Ancient Shrouded gear. Any unique Items are considered to be at risk. There is no known fix for this

- After speaking to Delphine before riding to the embassy, you will be frozen in one spot, unable to move or use items or skills. Also, the game may crash when retrieving your items in Riverwood with the "Take All" command. This can be solved by emptying your inventory as much as possible into a safe house chest after speaking to Malborn.

Thanks Diviner, I think my problem is the top one on your list as it says exactly what does happen, he cant close it. But there is one problem my magicka is rubbish as everytime i have leveled up i have choosen Health.

Do you happen to have a previous save from an earlier moment in the quest to which you can revert to? Unfortunately as fas as I've seen there are no fixes for the issue.

I just looked i do, and its right at the beginning of the quest just after i spoke to Malmor, so i'm hoping it works this time.

I had similar glitch on my first character. That ugly elf was never there at the party, but as I didn't know how that was supposed to work, I've spent more then hour and half, talking to everyone, sneaking around, getting out of that place just to realize I am locked in there and there is nothing I can do. Reload saved the day.

This might be extremely obvious, but are you sure you actually gave him any items to smuggle in to the Embassy?

IIRC, there might be a potion on a bench before you enter the first room with Thalmor guards, sneak around a bit first and see if you find anything useful before you attack. (And if it's any consolation, at level 5 your Magicka would be pretty much rubbish even if you had put points in it... Especially without any gear or potions to fortify it or reduce spellcasting cost.)

Did you even remember to give him the items you want him to keep in the first place?
it doesint automatically do it.
you had to manually put the items you want to keep in his inventory.
Delphine took away everything else.
