Well aren't there tech demos by nvidia? They show the power of Directx 11. Looks stunning

Tech demos are one thing - games are something else.
Sure man but that just shows what directx 11 can do. I think it's the developers fault when they don't take advantage of that.

DX10 was pretty much an iteration of DX9, DX11 is a real evolution, just hope it gets implemented properly. Honestly, it's time developers start dumping DX9 and make the games DX10 and 11 only like DICE is doing with Battlefield 3. It's old technology/software, it's holding everyone else back, and people will really see an improvement once a game is coded specifically to those DX versions both in visuals and performance.

DX10 was more of a leap than DX11. In fact most of DX11 was supposed to be in DX10 but Nvidia didn't have hardware in place in time - they biched to Microsoft and managed to get them to scale back the requirements for DX10 classification.

It's pretty much irrelevant, until the next-gen consoles are developed I don't think were gonna see real, ground-up engines based on DX11.

I will be in a week or so with either a GTX 590 or two GTX 570's in SLI. Right now, and probably on launch day, I will still be on my GTX 295 (DX10).

You could argue endless city is a ufo flight simulator, and the Heaven is an exploration game about a flying elf as is Stone Giant. Granted none of them have enemies of weapons, but they probably already meet the dictionary criteria for being video games.

Anyone have some old graphics cards and/or power supplies they wanna give me (for free?)

This OEM 250 Watt PSU and GT 240 graphics aren't giving me anything shiny.

I'm sure you guys have old 9800GTs and stuff you don't use anymore.

Nope, still DX10.1.
Was planning to upgrade for Crysis 2 but from what ive seen of the game its just not worth it. Ill wait a couple of months and build a new rig when BF3 is close to release.

I think you missed the point. I have a gtx 260. But I was ready to buy a new **** computer just for this game. Now I have no reason to upgrade. Because this was about the only game I cared about looking good...

I see what your thought is, "Ill tell these dumb asses they dont need DX11 because their computers probably cant handle it anyway"

Your point is null.
