Argonian Language

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:47 am

First time in TES I have decided to create an Argonian character. But naming him it's little bit difficult because I can't find any vocabulary or translator for Argonian language. Is there any place where is translated all known Argonian words?

I don't think so...but you could do the hyphen ( Exampe Tooth-In-The-Sea, Grey-Throat, Takes-In-Light; usually 2 to 4 words). Or you can use http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=modding_data/ngen

Actually their native language is called Jel, but yeah...Bethesda hasn't really evolved on that so it's pretty impossible to make a translation :(

You should make it up with some imagination. The problem, I guess, is that their language is too unpronounceable for normal human. As far as I know, Haj-Ei means "Hides-His-Eyes." I'm not familiar with any recent translations.

I imagine a lot of hissing and other lizardish consonants.

Thanks for your help.
Because translation for Jel was impossible I decided to change the name I planned to give him. Now I'm using dragon language to give him name Sunvaar-Tu.

Try "Rubs-The-Lotion-On-Its-Skin"
Sounds Argonian to me

"They call me 'Hauls-Ropes-Faster'. I don't care. They can't pronounce my Black Marsh name, anyway."

According to "The Infernal City", the Argonian language is much like stated above. Pretty much impossible for any other race to pronounce. Sunvaar-Tu is a pretty good and exotic name though.
