"RPS: So you guys and Prey 2? Definitely not happening? I already asked Pete Hines, but just to be absolutely sure.

Why am I not surprised.
It will be interesting at least, to watch how Pete (et al.) worms his way out from under the piles of misinformation and falsehood.
Quoting klazarus for the truth: "I have no idea who leaked the truth. The Prey 2 Human Head created is their version of Prey 2. Arkane is now working on their own version of the game. When Arkane has something to show, then we'll share it with the public." Paraphrased Hines speak
I really hope Human Head takes RPS up on their offer: "If anyone from Human Head wants to get in touch with us press sneak ***** to let us know what happened on their side, they’re very welcome to."

I've heard rumblings in light of recent news Bethesda will be renaming the follow-up to Dishonored Dishonest!
At least they are doing their own stuff, not reusing HH assets, and that's the "good news"........
Idk if that's good, considering HH's amazing art style for Prey2
Nope, actually that is the "bad" news. With all the possible respect for Arkane's skills and for the goodness of their System Shock franchise I like what I saw, this means the game wont use idTech engine, nor will be about bounty hunting, nor... to sum it up wont be the same game, what's left ? The name ? [censored] the name. I had the (bad) feeling that last leaked screenshots weren't the same thing as before...
R.I.P. Prey 2 ...
Bethesda
Bethesda's pulled all the fan and community features from the Facebook page. Actions speak louder than words. At least folks can see the kind of company Bethesda really is.
What a bummer. Prey 2 is dead. Years of Human Head's work has been thrown away.
There's something about those emails that don't quite make sense; somewhat non sequitur if you will.
I know there is stupid amounts of evidence to suggest that Prey 2, as we know it, is dead but I can't help but find myself feeling like something is missing in all of this hub-hub.
Sure, the emails could be fake. But wouldn't it be a sort of slander on someones part by doing so?
Is it not blatantly obvious that Pete hines specifically referred to "the human-head prey 2 thing" the way he did to avoid outright saying yes or no to a question asking just that?
Aren't we all ready to grab our pitch forks? haha
Bethesda, if you are indeed hiding something, and Human Head studios was stripped of their ability to release Prey 2 because of your monetarily political squabbling, I hope the Press rips the culprit a new one for doing so.
Bethesda got caught doing a crappy thing. The least they could do is take responsibility. Have some accountability. You overplayed your hand, and when things didn't go your way you took your toys and went home. "Quality" issues is just silliness. A team made up of industry veterans would have no problem executing. The emails aren't fake. How long do folks have to see smoke before they know there's a fire?
Did anyone see our favourite former Human Head developers response?
'Bethesda once said "I think all of the stuff that you’ve heard at this point has been from one side of this, and it’s been somebody putting spin on it, like, ‘here’s what happened.’ No, that’s your version of what you think happened. I haven’t heard from anybody yet that actually sat in the room."
As I've said in the past.
What a disaster this has all become.
All we ever wanted was Alien Noire. Cyberpunk bounty hunting on an alien planet must be TOO MUCH to ask for in terms of a theme for a respective video game.
On the contrary, Bethesda has NO PROBLEM greenlighting more generic "Retro-futuristic" ww2 era titles like wolfenstien that pay more gross attention to an already milked-to-death time period and aesthetic, because you know we've "NEVER HAD THAT BEFORE".
Sci-fi/Cyberpunk/Alien Noire is such an untapped theme for games and devs just don't seem to get the potential that it has in our modern videogame market. Well, except for CD-Project Red of course.
Why why why? I ask.
