Armor Suggestions For A Nord Fighter

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:21 pm

I got tired of playing magicians, so last night I created Sigrun - a Nord two-handed fighter. She is using Real Swords - Nord to use a 2 handed bearded axe. Now that I am out of the tutorial I have come to that most crucial stage of any character's development, what to wear? I want to go with light armor for her so she can move quickly in melee, but leather just does not fit my image of her. I am thinking of using the golden saint armor, as it has that valkyrie look. But I would kind of like something more grundgy in appearance. Some kind of mail armor would fit, but I never liked the regular mail in the game. A version of guard armor might, if there is a mod out that without the city guard logo on it. I have always liked how Iron looks, and have modded a Light Armor version of it which I might just use for a while. but I would kind of like to use something different.

So does anyone have any ideas for armor mods (or even vanilla) that would work? Trying to find armor for females that actually looks like armor and not lingere is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The stats of the armor do not matter, as I will probably just make a leveled list of it, likewise with whether it is heavy or light, I can change that easily enough as well. I am only interested in appearance. Something that looks serviceable, without gigantic boobs, and with a Norse appeal to it if possible (which is why I was leaning towards some kind of mail).

Brusef Amelions armor is what I use. If you said what body replacer you are currently using this would be somewhat easier to answer.
I think the Worn Mithril in my UFCOM game is grundgy and would work, but I am not sure if the source is OOO,MMM, Frans, or Armentarium?
Edit - Sages Skyrim Armory has some light armors that are definitely Nord friendly. The reason I asked about a body replacer is because I am a big fan of the Eve expansions because they are tasteful and realistic compared to most Stock Clothing and Armor replacers. and sorry for the late edit.

I do not use a body replacer. But I have found that most armors for body replacers still work fine without them, although not all.

OOO adds worn versions of the four lower grades of light and heavy armor.

You might also try http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16975 It adds several new versions of all of the stock armor, complete with re-textures.

If you wanna RP and not power game, Nords prefer leather and fur armor because their culture is big on hunting and learning to live off the bounty of nature.

When Nords go around scantily clad there's usually either a witch or a wench nearby. :P

Is there a place with pics of them? If one looks decent, I could download OOO and take out the meshes and textures for the armor.

Yeah I saw that. But I could do that myself if I want to. I'm looking for something new.

I have had a zillion characters wearing leather and fur. So I want something different.

what about the arena champion's armor? Wear iron till you can get it. I mean isn't winning fame in the arena what any warrior would want? Unless your some kind of noble warrior, and don't want to fight for other peoples amusment or something lol

I made a breton swordsman, and i used the kavatch armor, it looks pretty boss

A Nord would probably prefer simple chainmail or mithril in the absence of fur or leather, if he had to use the junk you find in Cyrodill. Any Nord worth his salt wouldn't wear fancy Elven armor. Maybe Glass if he could afford it and was a fancy boy.

As someone else suggested the Amelion armor set would suit a Nord fighter. It's light armor but it's actually quite heavy so for practical purposes it's not the best, but it looks really good and the cuirass has a nice enchantment.

Oh my, Rosa is about to embark on a great journey down the path of a valkyrie warrior. Yippee!!
No longer will she hide behind chameleon, conjuration and area effect fire damage.

Whiteguy has some of the cheap ideas that I immediately thought of too. Arena and Kvatch armor.
I reckon the Arena would look good, I could see Sigrun going to Bravil and becoming 'good friends' with Tadrose Helas. She would even look the same!
