Armor Templates and WeaponEnchantment Bases in SkyEdit

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 4:18 pm

Ok, I'm trying to figure out exactly how such bases and templates work exactly.

I would think that the items with bases/templates would take on the characteristics of those bases/templates. However, I'm not so sure if that's the case.

I tried to give a shock damage enchantment a base of a fire damage enchantment. I was hoping it would provide both shock and fire damage, though it ended up only causing shock damage. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Also, do keywords of templates/bases also transfer to items that are based on them?

Thank you! :-D

Ok, good news! It seems that armor template keywords transfer. At least from what I can tell. I'm not so sure about weapon/enchantment bases, though.

Base Enchantments are what the player learns when the item gets disenchanted. I think that might be the only thing it does.

Ah, that makes sense, thank you! :-)

It appears that Weapon Bases act as Armor Templates, though. Not sure why they are not also called templates.
