Armour to match 1st recon beret

Post » Thu Oct 02, 2008 10:43 am

I like the appearance and perks of the first recon beret and I want to wear armour that matches it however anything that I've tried and matches and works well is NCR and I keep getting that message reminding me that I'm wearing NCR armour, and I don't want that. So what I'm asking is does anyone know of any non-NCR armour that looks good with the beret.
Much appreciated.

Followers Lab Coat?
Might not be fit for combat, but it looks good, to me anyways.
I might be weird, but with the Bounty Hunter Duster and Lucky Shades or Authority Glasses, it looks good aswell. But as stated, I might just be weird

Merc adventurer outfit

This 100%, the Merc adventurer is by far the best garb in NV imo.
Any merc is also good, but charmer tends to cowboy hats or bandanas imo.
Veteran would look good in Boones hat too but again favours more a mask imo.
Grunt or doctors fatigues would be the next best I suppose.

Armour black combat or leather would be the best suit in ageneral sense.
Otherwise take the bullet roleplay true blue NCR and wear NCR armour to match.

Sheriffs duster. Especially if you are a sneakypete (sniper or other sneak-dependent build). Add Rebreather for rather intersting and practical look. .

I think that beret goes well with the Recon armor, actually.

Easiest place, head to goodsprings source.
Head down to the camp site go right then up the cliff where the traps and geckos are, reach the seat, table and ammo can next to the fridge.
Look down over the cliff, should be a skeleton and the suit is right next to it on a ledge.

It's random on mercenary bandit enemy types. It's the same thing Manny is wearing (the other sniper in Novac, not Boone). It also looks very different on female characters vs. male characters - I think it's goofy on male but looks good on female. just my opinion tho.

Edit: I also think the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_armor,_reinforced looks good with the beret, but it's not clothing.

You might want to try it with the reinforced leather armor (not the plain leather armor). I think it looks sweet.

lol, understand.

For clothing I agree w/whoever mentioned the duster. Either the sheriff one (early acquisition) or the slightly higher DT (6 I think?) bounty hunter one. Looks great w/the beret, both male & female. So does the white pant/pinkish hoodie wasteland wanderer outfit, if you don't mind pink.

Really? I don't really like the way it looks on female characters I much prefer Merc Charmer outfit with slave scarf. Something about the tattered stockings I like. But for the Recon Beret the charmer outfit doesn't look good.

I wasn't comparing the adventurer to the charmer - just the male vs female adventurer....the charmer outfit is pretty cool on female's too, altho I'm not into tattered stockings myself. ;) I think I prefer the corduroy looking pants for some reason. But tbh, I don't really like most of the merc-category outfits in general. With the graphics in the game, they're kind of chunky and awkward looking, most of them. I like the wasteland or dusters or even some of the pre-war clothes better. The wasteland hoodie is still my fave on females for some reason...especially when you re-texture it with some other color scheme.

If you have the DLC the assassins suit looks good with it.
