Does anyone else see the similarities between the Armoured Trolls from Dawnguard, and the Armoured Trolls from Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings Movies?

Atleast thats i what i sort of noticed, reference or pure accident?

When ever you try to compare two Tolkien based lores, you only come up with the same conclusion.

o_O Elder Scrolls is Tolkien based... at the most its Tolkien inspired, just like every other Western Fantasy xD

Just like the Underworld thread, yes I do believe in a way they are meant to be similar.

Aren't based and inspired the same word? What does it matter what it is called? All western fantasies are based on Tolkien. The Elder Scrolls universe does happen to be only loosely based on it though. Many things are different, for example: Elves aren't immortal Mary Sues'.

God I love my loyal armoured troll, wish you could name them but I guess they don't really love you enough for that, your just the guy that it was told "Troll, follow!" and it did. Was wondering are they permanent followers or do they go away? Haven't had him long enough to find out.
