Arrow sticking out of my head.

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:01 am

So yeah, my argonian has a forsworn arrow sticking out of his head just under his eye and every time I'm in 3rd person, it's there. (3rd person includes kill-cams and crafting animation). I have no past save to re-load to, as I didn't realize I was struck in the head by an arrow that won't go away until many, many save games later. At this point, even if I did have a pre-bug save I wouldn't load it as I'd have to go back probably more than 15 hours or so. This same thing happened with an ice-spike spell that got stuck up my characters @ss, luckily I had a recent save to reload to and noticed it early so i could fix it before it became an infinite problem.

What's causing this, what could fix it and if nothing can fix it, will a patch fix it? Getting hit by an arrow or spell had the potential of completely destroying your character.. :/
Has this happened to you?

Arrows that get shot at you sometimes become added to your inventory, when this happens the arrow does not always get removed from the player model.

The fix that works for me is to remove all the arrows from your inventory, you could simply drop them all as 1 big stack then just pick them back up. Should fix it.

I once had arrows disappear from my body when I used an Arcane Enchanter. Saw them fade away when I bent over the table.

Open the console and change six, open the console and change six again. Your stats remain the same but your textures reload. Problem solved.

I had this issue on the xbox 360. I had an arrow sticking through my shoulder and left pectoral muscle. The tips had met on the other side through my back. Stayed that way till I dropped the individual arrows.

I had this happen with an ice shard, but fortunately i had pre-saves - lost a couple good levels though.

I had this happen with my orc. Had two arrow though both stuck in my face. Eventually they just went away. Took several game days. I was not an archer btw so I never carried arrows in my inventory.

I am assuming there is a default expiration for items. For instance if you shoot an arrow and it bounces off a mudcrab and lands on the ground it will be there to reclaim for several days. Same with killing an individual and their weapon or their body for that matter staying where it was for quite some time. I think sometimes arrows that stick in you are treated like this and simply need to expire.

I had a quest to go to a party undercover I was given "Party Clothes" because I "Couldn't go dressed like I was!" I was thinking "How about the arror sticking through my eye and out of the back of my skull?" lol

just a theory

lol. Beth did this on purpose. Sometimes arrows that are shot at you...stay in you for awhile (~half day game time). It was this way in Oblivion too.

I tried it, didn't work. Might have added to original post that I tried it ages ago.

As funny as it is, I play on consoles and we don't have console commands :D

I thought of this myself, not sure if it'd work or not. (I'm not yet a werewolf so I haven't been able to test it just btw-style)

It's been there for in-game weeks.

Me too but out of the center of my chest. According to Manswers I need to push it all the way through to prevent myself from bleeding out....
Thanks for the tips!
