Arrows lagging because of FPS limiter - help?

Post » Thu Dec 06, 2012 1:36 am

Hey all,

I have been having this problem for quite a while now. I finally discovered what was causing it.

I have been using an fps limiter because when i dont, there is exreme microstutters (yes i have tried borderless window mod, didnt work). This fps limiter completely solves my problems with the stuttering.

However, when i shoot an arrow, sometimes it will fire 3-15 seconds AFTER i release the trigger. Sometimes, I will fire five arrows, and they will all shoot at the same time many seconds later. I call this "arrow lag". this arrow lag will eventually stop after firing enough arrows. It mainly happens immediately after loading up a save file or entering a new area. Anytime after it has to load something mainly.

Well, it is very annoying considering that my character is mainly an archer. I cannot stand sneaking up on someone and shooting an arrow, only to find that the arrow fires about 3-15 seconds later completely missing the target.

Please, is there anything I can do about this?

Borderless window mod literally does not even work. I'll press cntrl enter to activate it and nothing will happen. The mod just straight up does not work. can someone maybe help me with this or suggest another mod that might eliminate me having to use the limiter? Or maybe some limiter settings that might fix this arrow lag?

The FPS limiter is great besides the fact that it causes this arrow lag.

Here are my fps limiter settings
FPS limit: 60
Render ahead: 5

Please help, I just want to have an enjoyable experience playing this beautiful game.

Are you asking if my v-sync is on or off?

I'm asking if your V-sync, when on, successfully limits your FPS

Ah ok, sorry about that. No, it does not. Before getting an FPS limiter, I tried using v-sync and I still had the stuttering problem, unfortunately.

I would love to get borderless window mod working, considering how that does solve the problem. I just cannot get the cntrl + enter command to function properly.

Any other ideas how to fix this arrow lag problem?

Have you tried something like http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801 to see if it fixes stutter (rather than the FPS limiter) ?
