This is what my game looked like after the patch, using the Preview v2 drivers.

Way worse then before the patch.

In the gigantic post from Gstaff (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1238786-new-rage-pc-update/), it says:

If you do not experience a crash but you see texture corruption then you may be able to get the large Texture Cache to work by accepting the change and restarting the game. If you still experience texture corruption after restarting the game you will have to set the Texture Cache back to SMALL.

I originally took this to mean quit, and restart. I think that was wrong. It must mean start a new game from the beginning. (ie: watch the cinematic you can't skip for the 50th time. My only consolation is that that video is properly branded.)

So I finally decided to start a brand new game instead of loading an old save game and had success! My Radeon 5870 1Gb must not be enough to use the LARGE setting, so I had to set it back to SMALL, and restart the game again. Everything looks good.

The only problem I'm having now (and it's a big one) is that every time I save the game, RAGE freezes. Let that sink in.

I'm in Wellspring and it still works. No bugs, no freezes, no artifacts, no crashes. Just smooth and beautiful. I'm running on 1280x1024 at 8x AA and high AF, can't turn texture cache to large since I only have 512mb on my GPU. But other than that it's completely beautiful. 60 FPS no less. Although it took me 4 days to fix it to this point, countless driver changes and config file tries.

Specs:
E8400
2GB
HD4870 512mb
Win7 32-bit
11.10 preview2 catalyst.
Catalyst AI on, vsync off unless app specified, triple buffering off, rest is default.
No config files at all.
Startup options: +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +com_allowConsole 1 +r_swapinterval 1 +vt_maxPPF 16 +jobs_numthreads 0

I've done about 5 quests, and still don't have a problem. I am not sure what 'ghost hideout' is exactly, but I have been inside the first non-outdoor zone, and the radio tower quests.

my 4850 X2 has 2gb of memory. I could use a large cash outside, but when I go to the Garage section I get brown tessalated surfaces unless I change to small which predictably increases texture popping.

Isn't 2bg enough?

I also have a HD5870 and I just uninstalled my ATI drivers.. everything has been working perfectly, more or less, since I did that. No problems with low frame rates or anything. Might help some of you.

I have the same 5870 and I've done all the things suggested and I tried uninstalling the Ati drivers and what do you know I now have no more problems with loading or anymore graphical glitches inside of the levels it's not as pretty but at least the game works now. In the words of Ellis from L4D2 "That's Hogwash!"
These companies need to get their act together this whole ordeal has been a travesty and an embarrassment when you forget where you came from then your on the way to death don't think you can treat the longtime pc gamers like crap giving us your console port like garbage and letting your product get out there without making sure the drivers work with it this goes to show that Drivers can be nothing but bloatware sometimes. Guess what BF3 did the smart thing they put out a beta to test things first maybe you should of done the same thing so you could iron out the problems before launching and totally embarrassing yourselves. It's sad that the community is much better at figuring out what is wrong than you guys and they are not paid for it. I've spent lots of time tweaking and installing uninstalling like all of you I expect some of that sometimes but not this bad. You have convinced me to never pre-order another game from you that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Exactly the same here!

Before Catalyst 11.10

After i installed the preview drivers all looks fine. Thanks to "Big Texture Cache". But if i do enter the ghost hideout everything is messed up again.
Other users seem to have crash issues when entering ghost hideout. So it might be something not driver related.
After the next patch we might be able to play mission 2... ;)

Ghost Hideout is the very first mission in the game.

E8400 Intel Core2 duo ~ 3ghz per core CPU
Nvidia Geforce pci-e video card ~ 9800GTX+
WinXP 32bit o/s w/sp3
Was getting the texture issues at every next level/stage/load before the Nvidia beta drivers, was running the 280.26 drivers. However reloading the most recent save game fixed it.

Now with the http://www.geforce.com/Drivers/Results/38105 ~ 285.38 installed, everything works perfect, no texture issues anymore!
Thanks for the updates! ;)

Something new here. :)
I resetted my settings with safemode (+set com_safemode 1) and the texture errors are gone!

But! Dark areas are green, tearing like hell and the detailed textures near to the player are popping in. When i try to enable the bigger texture cache or enable Vsync the game crashes. when i try to save the game freezes. When i start the game normal the texture errors are back.
