Assassin question

Those who play the Assassin type... do you use shields? I really don't want to use one because it doesn't look very... stealthy... but if I don't use one I get my ass handed to me. I need some advice... I want to use daggers and swords but what should I have in my left hand?

once u get ur stealth up it kinda becomes like a cheat
like they can see me even if i walk right in front of em, in daylight so dont worry too much in defence
with 30x multiplier u can take out quite alot of enemies in one hit

dual dagers for me tho, everything i cant take out or got detected anyway i shout so they get weaker and then just release flurry of blows

Hmm... dual daggers... very nice. Was it hard in from lvl 1-10 with no shield?

not really focused on combat my first lvls
just the brotherhood quests which also give a nice companion who can take all the blows and the shout

I used Dual Daggers + a bow and didn't have too much trouble through level 10. With 2 daggers you do lots of damage quickly, especially if you start off with a sneak attack. Sneak attacks will kill many enemies outright. I can take down Giants fairly easily at level 15.
