Atronachs... Origin of name-?

Just got real curious about this...

Anyone have a clue as to where Bethesda got the term "Atronach" from??

To me it sort of sounds like the beginning of the word 'Atrophy/ied'... and then some other half of a word at the end-??

...Just stupid curiosity on my part.

The word was probably made up by a person or name generator, but the closest to any actual words that I've ever encountered would be:

Atro~ Black, Dark Blood-Red, Fierce, Cruel.
~nach (East Indian) Dance.
