Attacking underwater

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 3:54 pm

Is it just me or can you really not swing a sword underwater anymore? I'm getting all bit up by slaughterfish and cant even fight back. And one time a guard fell into the water and ran around underwater hacking at me... he never drowned. Am I doing something wrong or did they really take out stabbing things while underwater?

Quite annoying isn't it. All i do is jump in, aggro everything, swim to the waters edge and fry everything with lightning from there, it takes a few goes as they usually swim away quickly, but it works in the end.

It's rather ridiculous that water fighting was broken in this game. Could fight fish in water in Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion... get to Skyrim--nope, your weapon just autosheathes and you can't unsheathe it. I hope they fix this, as it saps the fun out of underwater exploration for me. :sadvaultboy:

I think you should be allowed to at-least use a dagger in water.

Yeah. I can see not being able to use fire-based spells under water (for instance). But a one-hand blade? It's fishing the old fashioned way :)

Hopefully this is easy enough for someone to mod in, if it isn't fixed with a patch.

Elemental cloaks work, which is pretty nice.
