so no auction house

Post » Mon Aug 26, 2013 3:56 pm

First off, I think eso not making a server auction house is great step to making a more realistic mmo. But, relying on people to make their own bazaar might not be good in the long run. People are greedy and hateful and try to corrupt whatever they can control by themselves. Eso should have some control of the economy.

I know when this game starts its going to have a lot of npcs that stand around and say they are leather vendors or cooks, but actually sell the same crap and give you a nickel for something you could sell on the auction house or bazaar for a lot more money. Maybe eso could make those guys need actually pelts or turnips and pay a good price, but have a cap based on what they can resell. Maybe they take whatever they get to make something we need. But are limited to what they sell by however many pelts or turnips we give them. Maybe that system could build on itself to where they need people to turn in pelts so the high lvl vendors will have high level gear to trade us. These npcs could work off a demand and then maybe people will shout out asking where they could get good bear leather and people will respond with, "the kajati in riverwood have the cheapest but the nord in ebonhold are never sold out''.

It's just a starter idea. People please build on this or we might have servers that people avoid just because a guild has the market under their control and people can't get crap without paying a high price. Money makes the mmo world turn.

I think what hes suggesting is that NPC's will be able to tell you what guild auction house has the piticular item your looking for so you can request in world chat to speak with some one in that guild so you can get the item your looking to purchase.

which is a pretty good idea in my opinion.

I think the good places will be well known and very open. hard part will be getting in as it will be full all time with people not droping out right away.

if your a member of the guild who has the item you could buy it from your guild and sell it in trade to the person who is looking for the item. and if you like the man just don't charge him 3x what it's worth

looks like I will not be making trips to join this .. looks like ill be doing my own hunting of matterials!

All the good GAHs, if there ever will be any, will be in maxed out guilds, so no point knowing where they are.

you know ... the more I think about it the more it sounds like it could get complicated .. needing the best gear will probably be only matterials found in cryodill .. this could get really ugly really fast, especially if your not in a large guild

Yeah so far I am not really liking this GAH thing. What is the reasoning by Zenimax for this?

Mmos with decent crafting always attract some hardcoe crafters. i remember armor and weapon crafters in daoc who only really liked to stand in town maling and selling. they did it vack then with nothing but chat channels. I dont see a problem for them in eso.

the lonewolf merchant will show up and will be the goto people for getting your drop gear tweaked.

that's only if what you make and craft isn't bound .. and only binds on equipt .. not bound on creation.

and that also means he needs the matterials for it .. where you going to get those matterials? especially if your not in a large guild .. thinking that most of the matterials needed for the best gear will only be in cryodiil

like I said .. this could get ugly really fast

It's a shame if this is an example of what might happen. AHs so bad people go back to shouting to sell stuff.

I think we need a ZOS explanation in full of the Auction House system within Guilds, and what trading can be done outside of Guilds in terms binds/trades/gifting.
