I am playing the story mission where i have to free Captain Marshall in the Authority Prison. I have just free'd him from his cell, killed the initial batch of enemies and we have progressed to a court yard. I gave him cover as he moved through the court yard, killing a bunch of guards including one on a sentry gun. He then tells me to open up the security gate so he can get through, i've shot the generator, come round to his stairs and opened up the gate but he will not respond or progress through the gate meaning i cannot get any further in the game!! I have tried loading up a previous save from 5 minutes before (before i had free'd him from his prison) but it still didn't work!

Not very happy as after putting 6:30 hours into the game i've now got a game ending bug!!

So i tried blowing the generator and opening the door while stilling killing enemy guards in the court yard that way he would never prompt me to "open the security door", now he just stands there gormless rather than crouching gormless at the top of the stairs. This game is buggy as hell!!

Ok just to update this thread incase anyone has the same issue. Basically if you have a game save from before freeing Captain Marshall you should be able to retreat your steps completely, exit the prison back into the wasteland losing all progress and restart the entire mission from scratch, this fixed the bug for me. If you have free'd Captain Marshall i think there's a security gate blocking you from going back and you're probably screwed.
