A storm is on the horizon, roaring with thunder. The dead awake within their graves, aware of an impending event that is soon to descend upon the lands of Earth. It is an event that can not be stopped, and will swallow the days and nights of a thousand souls, as they find their minds constantly tormented. With what, one may ask? This question, I can not answer accurately for all... but I know this, young one. Whatever torments these minds, it must be released into the world lest their host be forever in sorrow. And there is only one way these poor souls can find themselves liberated...

...They must write.

National Novel Writing Month descends upon us authors, and we must answer the call. What is NaNoWriMo? NaNoWriMo is an annual event where authors join together to work toward the goal of writing 50k words within a month, and perhaps go beyond if they are feeling bold.

I am participating this year with the main goal of reaching 1 Million words, and finally get a story that I've been plotting in my head for the past four years of my life out into the public eye. I know that we have plenty of writers on this forum, and so I have made this call to arms.

Whom amongst our community is participating this year? What is your primary goal? Would you like to share details of your story?

This thread is to discuss NaNoWriMo, and allow a means for those of us participating to push each other onward.

And now some words of motivation for anyone that is thinking about doing this, but may get lazy and give up down the road: You're going to die one day, along with all the memories and experiences you've allocated. You might as well hurry up and make some piece of your mind that will remain for as long as the human race continues to exist.

I have a book I'm working on already, but I will use November to dedicate harder work to it and make some super progress compared to normal.

Was it you that got a book published recently, or am I thinking of someone else?

This sounds interesting, but I don't think I can do it.
