@StarX. Downloaded the new 'fixed'' packages and checked them against what Leviathan1753 had uploaded and also compared with the Bellyache and sounaipr packages. I Have NOT installed and tested your new fixed packages (don't want to mess up my system any further) but I see something strange/peculiar. Its about the location of the specification.json file. An example in case of the Sabrecat Snow its located in ..\SkyProc Patchers\Automatic Variants\AV Packages\StarX AV Package\Sabrecat Snow\Skin. In the uploaded version of Leviathan1753 the specification.json file is located at ..\SkyProc Patchers\Automatic Variants\AV Packages\StarX AV Package\Sabrecat Snow. In this directory resides the json file AND the skin directory. Checked it also with Bellyache and Sounaipr packages, they also have the json file in the dir which contains the SKIN dir. If I interpret the README correctly this is the correct place.
Looks like the spec files are indeed in the wrong location (at least in the giants one I downloaded).

This would mean they don't get applied as variants as the package would be skipped. It's not unsafe to use, as prepping should keep it safe, and let you add them in properly later.
I thought this package transition would be easier. Sorry for all the confusion guys. 8(
This may need to go unsaid but I'd like to report a mod that throws out EDID errors, Interesting NPCs: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8429. . Simply disabling the esp suffices.
Thanks! 8) I'll look into it.
Couple of questions. First, do each of the packages stack up on top of each other for example, combining bellache's textures with Starx to add even more variation? Also if I dont like certain textures from a package is there an easy way to not use it?
Yeah, they do. 8) Packages that target the same creature will have both sets of variants applied and the creature will pick randomly from all of them.
ATM, all you can do is what wolverine suggested. Find which you don't like using a viewer, and then disable those in the AV GUI. Eventually I'm going to try to get the GUI to display the pictures so it's easy to see/find.
@Leviathan and others. I have a question about variant folders (eg outfits and eyes). When I open a .dds with for example irfanview I see multiple segments. Is it possible to have a variant folder for each segment? Whats the best way to determine how many variant folder each creatures has? Do I have to use the CK or Nifskope (newbie with regard to both). PERHAPS someone could make a list of variant folders for each creature which has been AV-tized by now. I think this would make it easier for future AV package creators. (BTW this would also help me quite a bit......)
What do you mean when you open a dds you get multiple segments? I always just get one flat "picture" (with some mipmaps, perhaps)... but never multiple layers or anything.
NIF files can have several .dds files as part of their model's textures, but each .dds texture is just "one thing", as far as I know.
I think you're talking about Variant Groups?
Variant Groups can be split up as the packager "sees fit". There's no right answer like "giants can have skin + clothes".
It's up to the packager to look at what he has and say "oh, I've got 5 clothes textures, and 5 skin textures... I'll put those in two groups to get 25 variants". Or he could keep them in one group and get 5 variants, each with a specific clothes + skin combination. It's up to the packager, though. He could separate any two textures that were part of the giant into separate groups.
