I was a little disappointed to learn that my iron war axe of souls doesn't seem to work with Azura's Star. I enjoyed using the weapon and figured the Azura's Star would be a perfect match, but after the axe captures a soul the star is still empty. Is there anything special I need to do with the star (I have the "white" version-non human) or does it only work when my mage casts soul trapping (I don't have the spell yet). If it doesn't work with weapons that have soul trapping enchantments does that mean it also doesn't work with bound weapons with the soul trapping perk? Any info would be appreciated

Do you have any other gems in your inventory? (petty, lesser/common etc)

When you soul trap an enemy, its soul will use the 'lowest' possible gem ie: a wolf soul will use up a petty gem, a draugar would use up a common gem. Azura's Star will only be used if there are no other empty gem available...
