I wouldn't call any the current abilities useless, just some are situational or not used as much as the others. Take for instance Grenade Shooting and Sprinting Grenade, both *can* be used but more often than not it's better to shoot an enemy next to a grenade before it goes off rather than shooting the grenade THEN the downed opponent; Sprinting grenade, well personally I'm always stationary or backing away when I throw my grenades so why would I sprint towards one?
Firewall *can* be useful but unless you're near the command post when you get that warning, it's not going to matter if it takes him 10 seconds or 15.
Transfer supplies is again helpful but if you're a good medic, you'd know that your teammates would rather have their health re-filled or be revived, moreso than needing another grenade. Could be helpful to give supplies to Engineers if they need to Double Mine/Turret an area although again, situational.
Control turret is a nice ability, but once you've hacked an enemy turret, then plant the control device on it then find a suitable hiding place, it is either too late to be effective or it's been mortar'd by the other team. I've only seen one game where I was spectating (was having dinner) 2 players had to run to a later part of the map, Engineer set up the turret, the Operative put his control device on it, then found a half decent location to hide, waiting for what must have been forever, the enemies starting showing up, he must of killed 1 of them before they 'Nade'd that turret to the moon! A fine example of time wasting. It's not a great way to use it but with the amount of time it takes to set up, you'd have been a better teammate just by slowing the opponents advances and letting the turret stay auto freeing your hands to do as you need.
I could go on, as I said none of the abilities are terrible, it's just that in every game, players start understanding the value of "most used" to "least used" and what would you rather spend those EXP on?
