I've been trying to get into Assassin's Creed, and I have to say, the controls are killing me. I get that it was developed for consoles, that's fine. What I can't get over is how terrible of a port it is. For one thing, it refers to LMB and RMB as "Button 0" and "Button 1". This makes zero sense, and is confusing as hell. I can only assume it's an artifact of mapping the controls to a controller, though I'm not that familiar with either XBox or PS3 controllers. I know console ports can be done well - of the recent games I've played, Human Revolution and Sleeping Dogs come to mind. You can sort of tell that they were designed for consoles first, but it plays fine on the PC. Assassin's Creed is the first game I've encountered where its control setup is aggressively bad, and it frustrates me, because I'm kinda interested in how the story's going but I can't wrap my head around the controls.
Any other games out there that are bad console ports? Alternatively, am I just an idiot for stumbling with AC's controls?
