Ballistic Weave is OP and isn't available for some clothing

Because that's even more unbalanced -_-

I kinda like it. Makes wandering around in more casual clothing more viable.

Granted it comes with some hoops to jump through.

How? Its just under armor that only fits under some cloths and not others. I will admit the 100 physical and 100 energy on a hat is a bit much they need to tone it down to 25 or something (only for the sheer amount of recorces you put in) but the under armor makes sense.

Because the already powerful 110/110 DR becomes even stronger

This is not what I'm looking for

I don't like that balancing too. It makes no sense that a freaky hat has more Defense than a full Combat Armor. They should allow ballistic weaves to armors too or Change the armor/Cloth System.

I asked if you were saying it should be taken away from other people because you don't like how it works. I thought you answered "Yes 100%". Sorry, I must have misunderstood your answer.

And yes balance is subjective, entirely. If it wasn't, how could we be having this debate?

wear less armor. Or you know, don't wear anything with ballistic weave on it.

I meant in its current form. And balance is not subjective, as balance is having a level playing field, which weave takes away.

The issue for me is one of accuracy. Even if two different ways of saying things result in the same results, I still prefer to have things explained correctly, because while the logic of the other way of explaining it may give the same results in one situation, it may result in different results in another.

For example, if you say 220 damage resistance, and someone gets hit with a ballistic-only attack, they're going to be upset that half of their defense is being ignored. On the other hand, if we explain up front that they get 110 to two different defenses, they'll understand what's going on, and we'll be less likely to see threads complaining about it.

Hey! Don't try suggesting actual solutions now, that's not what we're looking for. The hell's wrong with you?!

I'm the rebel that offers work-arounds and solutions. It's what I do.

I mean, really, Ballistic Weave isn't exactly forced on you, you have to make that decision on your own merit. So if you find that you are too OP for your own liking, then take a look at what you're doing and take some steps to put yourself where you want to be.

We got the freedom to be as vulnerable or as OP as we wanna be.

In your opinion.

I'm using Weave on my Military Fatigues, with Combat Armour on top, and I took a lot of damage fighting through the Quincy Ruins last night.

And I died pretty quickly later on, when I decided to go see what the Museum of Witchcraft was all about.

Playing field feels pretty level to me.

Ya but at the same time it is nice they added cevalar cause you would assume it would be on most military outfits in the future and their is no cevalar armor you can we air, I assume its cevalar with mirrors or aluminum foil under it to reflect lasers at the same time as well.

Ballistic weave is unbelievably rare to find and you cant even use it like you are saying until you progress a certain amount into the game, so its pretty much end game stuff. I think its a reward worth the effort.

This^

I think it's a balancing mechanic to help players RP in whatever clothing they want and still be viable. Like I said previously, I think the only thing OP about it that you get it without officially siding with the Railroad. On the other hand, by doing that, they've essentially opened it to be available to everyone.

My power armor has 2K ballistic resistance, 2k energy resistance, and 1k rad resistance...

My .45 cal rifle is dealing 300 damage x 5.3 sneak attack modifier and is 1 shotting practically everything in the game. Not to mention what I can do with my guns that use valuable ammo...

Then I jump out of my power armor and have +6 Charisma and can win any argument despite the fact that I have very minimal investment into charisma... (Red dress + Black rim glasses + Airship commander's hat + sharp modified left arm + sharp modified right arm+ black widow rank 3)

And you are complaining about ballistic weave?

That's not even on the radar of things that are OP...

armor merchant at the farm 300 feet to the east of where you start sells ballistic fiber 25 shipments every week so if you got the caps buy it.

Ha! Never even heard of this yet!!! I love this game!

Haven't even met any Railroad people (as far as I know).

For one, I am excited by this feature! I love some of the outfits, and would wear them if they were upgrade-able. Now I guess, I will!

Also, this means that Piper will be wearing a lot more dresses. :D

edit: i love the drifter outfit, so I guess, my solution will be to upgrade a hat and wear it with the drifter outfit. Can't wait!!!!

People love putting her in dresses. I can't bring myself to take her out of that coat and ruin how cute she is.

I hear you.

I gave her a polished metal helmet, and find that I quite like it on her. Much better than her press hat.

I have that quest in my list, but it doesn't appear to have any destinations associated with it. I figured I had to wait for something or other....
