Barbas the dog is just sitting there doing nothing in Haerma : V

So I'm in the Daedra's Best Friend quest

He took me to Haerma's Shame where the next part of the story takes place. But, before I met him, I had already cleared out Haerma's Shame. Now he is just sitting at the end of the dungeon doing nothing...Am I stuck?

Did you activate the Statue? Once the place is cleared, he will sit there until that is done.

and of course it's that simple, lol. I feel stupid. Usually the quests auto-activate themselves, but this one didn't. Ugh, now I feel stupid.
