Bard skills, can i have please?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 7:36 pm

It would be great if we could use some skills after joining bards college, like playing instruments or writing and reading poems. Could it be added to speechcraft perks, or got as a reward? DLC? Expansion?

We can play a lot with illusion spells, like calm and fury as if we were talking to them, inciting people against each other or calming everyone down with a beautifull speech (harmony). But it wouldnt hurt being able to play a beautiful song in a tavern and earn some coins.

Is anyone with me? XD

Yeah, I thought it was funny that you could join the Bard's College but the only thing they have you do is go find things and kill stuff.

You should be able to earn a few coins by playing a song in a tavern. I want to play the lute damn it!

Being able to play an instrument would of made sense if your in the bard's college. It's like being in the thieves guild and you can't steal.

Agreed. Calm and Fury spells could cast after playing a flute or shredding a lute

That would be kind of cool to kick your feet up on a the table on the deck of your house in Riften and play some soothing tunes on the lute.

It'd be cool if a Bandit was running towards you and rather than hitting him with "Calm", time goes slow and you whip out a lute, play a tune and calm him down.

Nope. This is Skyrim, you can only be generic warrior, thief, mage, or a mix of those.

What's that? There's a bard college and instruments in-game? Too bad, you never even do bard stuff in their quest line, and can't play instruments even for fun.

I wouldn't even consider it a questline. You retrieve a book and then 3 instruments from caves.

Eh, the Bard's college was always a bad idea. Bethesda never should've bothered.

They should have just called it something less important. Calling it The Bard's College makes it seem like it should be on par with The Mage's College, but it's not even close.. They couldn't even really call it a guild because the quest line isn't long enough for that..

Sadly, beth seems hesitant to innovate so I doubt we will ever see any new skills that weren't in past TES games. All Skyrim added that's really new were the shouts :/.

I was hopeful at first when I heard about the Bard Collage. D: I really wanted to be able to play the flute in taverns. It could have been like chopping wood or mining and you could get tips. It'd be really cool.

Really hoping for either a mod or an expansion that does this. Preferrably an expansion--there is a limit on how many mods we can have, isn't there?

I'd settle for being able to play a little tune in a tavern and score some coin, just for sake of appearances.

Bard skills? I don't harp on what other people like. What you like to do is whatever you like to do. But bard skills? How f'ing gay.

I'd love to be able to play an awesome face-melting solo on a lute and then have a bonus like the Gift of Charity does.

Thanks, and I note that the second one is available on Nexus, as well.

Sorry, cowboy, actually, bards love women, and women love bards  ! Maybe not that girl in Whiterun that asks you to make the bard leave her alone ;)

Ugh. From a "wouldn't it be cool" thread, which I'm all for, to a "Bethesda svcks for not thinking of this" thread. Sheesh. Give it a rest people.
