Just realized that its been while since I played a Bard type class. Loved the Bard type classes in Everquest, DAOC and Vanguard.

Was Bard a class available in any of the Elder Scrolls games?

Yup. But ESO will only have four classes, that will act as templates for alot of flexibility in class building. But the Original TES bard class never had any 'msic skills' or w/e.

the bard in Morrowind was more or less like the DAoC bard, except there was no music. no aura buffs in any TES game...

Morrowind's bards where skilled in:

• Speechcraft
• Mercantile
• Acrobatic
• Security
• Alchemy
• Illusion
• Enchantment
• Medium Armor
• Long Blade (1-handed swords)
• Shields

their main attributes where Personality and Intelligence.

the basic idea was that they'd focus in Illusion to give confidence to their allies while demoralize, blind, stun/"mezz", distract or calm enemies.
but Morrowind was not a multiplayer game neither where there many NPC followers. so this never was of much use.

however I'm sure some of those skills will make their way into ESO. thus it should be possible to play some sort of bard styled character.
