What did you think you could just waltz on in to the strip? No! You have to earn it.

Could have just been going into a building but even if it's cut up into big chunks it will be like the other fallout's where the towns are in chunks. So it will not bother me as long as it's not every 10 feet.

One does not simply walk into New Vegas!

But I always had a feeling it was going to be like that, ever since that one concept art with a giant wall surrounding the strip. After all, you think they would just let a bunch of dirty wastelanders walk right in and take up space on House's watch?

Can't find it right now, but there is a picture to the real entrance, which is heavily fenced and guarded by those securitrons.

Remember, this is Freeside -- a place which is, according to 1up (or it might be some other game website), 10 times the size of Megaton. That's pretty big, so it doesn't surprise me that you'll have to walk through loading screens.

im not talking about the strip im talking about different areas inside vegas..... people thought you used the sewers to get around instead

also if freeside is 10 megatons it must be more than double the amount of the strip

That's not the door to The Strip, it's probably a door into and out of Freeside, or parts of Freeside, which is basically a slum built next to/around The Strip. It's probably cut into sections so that people stay inside or out of Freeside. The door to The Strip is guarded by several Securitrons.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't mind Vegas being cut up like it is. The older Original fallout's are like that as well. It's going to be the size of four Megatons so it should be broken up.

Oh no, The Strip is going to be the size of about four Megatons. But that's not all of New Vegas. Altogether New Vegas is much, much bigger than just four Megatons. =P

Didn't they say that the casinos themselves were like two Megatons each? Wouldn't that mean that the 'four Megatons' thing would be just the exterior of the strip? With like the fountain and stuffs.

It just means more of Freeside. Or maybe the player was in the outskirts of Freeside.

So the player might have been in the outskirts of a city that is an outskirt to the strip, yeah that's it.

Sweet! I'd thumbs up to that, but I don't know how to on my iPod. Posting is so limited with this thing.

I love how we're apparently rating size in terms of Megatons now. :P

Well it looks like third person will not be locked in at the hip because when the player switches to it its kind of zoomed out and then zooms back in.

Pretty fast how that started. I got it from watching that new interview on Gametrailers, and how Chris gave an estimate of the size of the strip/area of strip using Megaton as a scale.

But it's useful as most people who have played Fallout 3 can relate to the size of Megaton.

Each hotel is supposed to be a megaton...what? The strip has been said to be the size of four megatons anyone know the size of freeside and what else makes up the city besides freeside and the strip?
