Bartering

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 5:10 pm

I got Skyrim and I've been playing for some time, but I noticed that when I go to a trader to sell items I can't negotiate the prices like in Oblivion and Morrowind. Has this been left out or am I missing something? If its left out, that would be disappointing, but I still love the game.

its been combined with speech for the sake of dumbing the game down for the masses. The amount you sell it for its automatically modified like we're some children unable to barter on our own with merchants.

Hopefully a modder can change that because it really takes away from the immersion of the game.

Really? I mean, really?

The bartering system in the older games was just a useless extra step that accomplished nothing aside from making trade take longer. In Morrowind, you could at least say there was some uncertainty and you had to guess how much you could ask for, but in the end, there was a maximum price you could get, and no amount of barter could change it.

So they finally got around to removing that tedious move-the-bar mini game? Among all the messed up messages on PC controls, that is a bit of good news to my ears.
