Hopefully someone on here can help me because im completely lost..I tried playing the battle for whiterun for the stormcloaks and everything is fine until i lower the drawbridge at which point the quest doesnt progress telling me to enter the city, if i enter the city anyway everything is normal and attacking anyone gets me a bounty. If instead of attacking the city i go to windhelm after recieving my orders it completes the quest as it should and tells me to report to ulfric but when i do he just has the regular dialogue options and the quest name appears as [...]. I cant set the stage because the quest only uses a start up and finish stage with a series of objective indexes. Ive tried a new game, earlier saves, even re-installing the game. I would really appreciate any help at all.

Did you go to the stormcloak camp and listen to Galmar? Can you then follow him to the bridge and lower it? And after you lower it and go into Whiterun is it business usual? no attack? Because during the attack all the NPC are in their homes with the doors locked. Some of the paths are blocked and there should be catapults shooting back at the cloaks outside. Galmar and Ralof should map in with you. Have you gone into Dragonsreach and confronted Balgruuf? Or is he just sitting on his thone?

When you start the quest, Whiterun is not even a place you can fast travel too. If you go back to Ulfric is Whiterun on your map to fast travel too?
