hey guys i was just wondering if there was an attack speed defference between battle axes and greatswords. i am re- rolling and making myself a ruthless killer and i was just wondering if theres a difference in attack speed or will it just really come down to style?

Yes, greatswords are faster than battleaxes.

Greatsword, Battleaxe, Giant Hammer... fastest to slowest (weakest to strongest).

I find the battle axe to be the perfect balance of power and speed. The swords are faster, but don't have as much oomph to them, and I find hammers too slow. Plus, I love the bleed damage perks with axes. The criticals from sword perks are nice too. The hammer perks really only work against armored opponents, which is only a fraction of what you will face.

iv being using a orcish warhammer for a while but i keep dieing from dragons and stuff, if i change to a 1h weapon with a shield will i be underpowered since alot of skill points have gone into 2h weapons?
