Battles

I feel like the band could do a cool original score for the game in the same light that HEALTH did for Max Payne 3, granted the music for the game will still be amazing but that idea struck me for some reason. Any fans of Battles around here?

Why did you have to make two separate topics for this? And it's a composer, Daniel Licht, not a band. (thankfully)

There pretty good but a band like Disturbed's style of music would fit it better.

How about we remove the bands argument entirely because it's silly. And even though I like Disturbed, they won't be fitting for the game. Gotta get my musician friends on this one.

But in all seriousness, Daniel Licht is probably the best choice.

First of all, you missed the joke. Secondly, no, Disturbed svcks and their music wouldn't fit in the game whatsoever.

Music, subjective as [censored]. Disturbed are decent but definitely nothing special. While I am a huge supporter of Hanz Zimmer I would have to say no to that one. His talents lie best in movies, not gaming.

It was pretty much a kneejerk reaction on my part anyway. I just can't stand when people just shoehorn music they like into things regardless of how well it would fit. I love Infected Mushroom but I'd have to be [censored] to think that they should do the score for a game like Dishonored.

Whilst I did like his work on MW2, he has more of a "cinematic" music style which isn't really suited to games. That's why I'm always dubious about games boasting about having famous actors in them; they just don't mesh well with the different role. Or in Bethesda GS's case, they have them in for five minutes and then kill their character off.

I think bands in general should stay away from most games. Why did Downpour have Korn, why? Everything but their song is really nice. A composer that has experience with the industry should work on these games. Even though Hanz Zimmer is freaking brilliant and I love him to bits, I still can't say he would be good for Dishonored. And yes, I know he's done stuff for the industry (why MW2 of all things) but I still feel like it's not his place here. Although technically I wouldn't know where exactly he can specialize but w/e, Daniel Licht is a solid composer and in my opinion still a great choice for Dishonored.
