BBC Series: Sherlock

Why can't America make shows like this?

Do/did any of you watch Seasons 1 and 2? I got turned onto it in my Comm class when we had to do a paper comparing Sherlock Eps 1: A Study in Pink with the original work A Study in Scarlet, and now I'm totally in love. It's almost like watching Doctor Who without a time machine... though I suppose that comes from Moffat doing the writing.

Anywho - any of you a fan? Have you guys heard any news about a Season 3? (It's not shown in America so we don't really get any info on it. I've had to watch it via Netflix or DVD.)

God, I hope so. I don't know why I enjoy this show so much, but it's been a wonderful change of pace. I guess I just find the interaction between Holmes and Watson hilarious. Both are extremely talented actors.

Interesting characters. Well written story. Witty script. Good acting. All reasons to enjoy it.

If you try to find it on Netflix, just search "Sherlock" the first episode is called "A Study in Pink".

This has to be one of my favorite shows. I can't wait for the new season. It's that perfect amount of witty and mystery solving that leaves you at the end going "HOLY [censored] I NEVER SAW THAT COMING!" even though there were unseen clues all over the place.

I'm sure this is common knowledge by now, but the reason it's been so long is that Watson and Sherlock are in the Hobbit movies. So they were shooting that for quite some time.

Benedict Cumberbatch ( Sherlock) was doing Star Trek but yes they're both in The Hobbit Trilogy.

Huh... I didn't know Cumberbatch was in The Hobbit too. I knew he was playing Khan in the new Star Trek movie. (I just bought The Hobbit and Sherlock season 1 and 2 this past weekend.... I guess I should try to find time to actually watch something.)

I had heard that's what the hold up was for the next season though. I'm wondering how far they'll take this series - I've never looked into how many books were written, but I was told the shows are based loosely on them thus far.

He plays the Witch King of Angmar if I remember correctly.
