It′s just how the developers made it. You can′t continue after you have completed the main quest.

It kind of annoying, you would think they would have learnt from FO3 unless they plan a similar DLC to Broken Steel. At least they do give you a pop-up message saying this is the final mission and it will end.

Just finished the game and I'm ragin that I can't continue playing.

How could they do this again after they even admitted it was a mistake the last time???

Really soured the experience for me.

I'm fine with it this way. Doing side quests while the main story is over, IMO, feels empty. I also know i left alot of quests and locations unexplored and playing a 2nd time could feel like a whole new game. Can't wait to start my 2nd playthrough and be an A hole!

They know that people want to be able to continue the story after the main event. It's marketing. They will eventually release a DLC that will let you continue like they did for FO:3. It would be a smart marketing ploy on their behalf, if half their audience wasn't clamoring to return their broken copies of the game. LOL.

Why don't you just play again and take a different path instead of crying about it?

x2, especially since it was publicly announced that they were giving it a definitive end well before the game was released. And let's not forget the dozen plus other threads about this same topic.

Exactly.

You only get to side with one faction (or yourself)

So play the game again and see what happens on a different path. And next time make a save before the clear warning.

there is not going to be a dlc, the game just ends and it's going to stay like that. obsidian already acknowledged this. making a dlc to continue would be too difficult because of all the changes.

It just says you can't go back; it doesn't mention that you won't be able to continue playing after the end of the game. It should tell you that though.

Is it just me or are the pro finite ending guys seeming more QQ than those who voice a genuine concern about the ending stopping play.
This inst the 80's and games don't have to be over when they are over, it is a farce to make an open sandbox game end just because the main quest is over.
I am not even doing the MQ as I find the side missions and actual world exploration/looting more fun. I certainly have no motive to do the MQ either.
Does no one learn from past mistakes?
FO3 and FAR CRY 2 are both open world and both were gimped by the ending, now FNV can join them on the "WTF did they do that for?" shelf.

I finished yesterday as an independent faction and I can yell you from what one of the main characters said there will be a more story being added he even told me he would see me later so it's not over just keep that save and try a differant faction the dlc might even change depending on the faction you chose so I'm now
helping ncr and just tip if you didn't try the independant faction do it!!

I think there was an article on IGN stating that Microsoft got a timed exclusive right to the first DLC which is supposed to be coming soon. Looks like the same deal as FO3

In fact, here it is: http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/112/1128530p1.html
