When I first heard about the idea about emperor I was really excited.
It could be a PVPer's ultimate goal, something they can fantasize about and for the most part only dream about achieving such a milestone.
I personally will be pursuing the emperor status very rigorously. My guild's main purpose is to control the 12 keeps around the Imperial City in order for a person from our fraction to become emperor.
The only concerns I have is,
Will the PVP point system be broken? In order to become emperor you must have the most points in your faction and at the same time your faction must control all 12 keeps surrounding the Imperial City. It would be a shame if people could easily exploit the system to be on the top of the leader boards. For example, if killing some one granted a good amount of PVP points, friends from different factions could point farm and ruin the system.
The point system itself needs to be very balanced and accurate depending on the difficulty of the task. For example, if you successfully capture a keep, it should give you a significantly larger amount of PVP points compared to just killing some one.
For the average player, becoming emperor might seem impossible. However, It isn't out of reach.
Every 3 months the PVP point system resets. I suspect that the day the points reset, many guilds will attempt to capture the 12 keeps surrounding the Imperial city and there will be many people attempting to be on the top of the leader boards for that chance to be emperor.
Even if you are emperor for a short period of time, you will unlock the skill line and boast to all of your friends / guild mates.
So what do you guys think? Any of you planning on becoming the emperor? How should the point system be balanced and what measures should be taken to avoid pvp point farming?
