Becoming a Jarl DLC

Post » Tue Oct 30, 2012 3:47 pm

My idea is Bethesda to make DLC that will make you Jarl.
You will have a lot of different options to manage the city.Fight crime or let your guards sort it out for you, Kill political enemies, declared war on the Thalmor or make alliance, Be on the side of Ulfric or Empire and many more options.

Example: A courier delivers a letter from a Jarl.In letter tells you that gives you one of his village. Then you'll be able to upgrade village in a small town and then in the city.

if you have any ideas write a comment

I would hate this, it's not my thing. However if other people want it then I don't see why not.

Sounds cool but it'd need a lot more than that to be interesting/sellable. I don't think I'd buy it.

I think the closest we will get is another feature like Raven Rock in Bloodmoon. You never really are Jarl/Mayor of the city, but you help it along and help define some of the choices it goes through. One of the things I hated in Shivering Isles was the defending the towns around the Isles from creatures. Most of the time, I would get there and wouldn't be able to defend all of the citizens before they were killed off. Same with the vampire attacks introduced in Dawnguard. In Hearthfire, you have to protect your home against bandits, Draugr, rats, and giants. I don't want to be running around from place to place just to defend people and livestock. I want to play the game sometimes just as a traveler, without being tied down by mundane activities. So while I wouldn't mind building a city (like rebuilding Helgen), I don't think I would like to become a Jarl.

Besides, you literally can't become a Jarl without killing off another one. There are only 9 holds in Skyrim, and I can't imagine that is going to change in a DLC.

Jarl? Probably not. Maybe made overseer of a settlement, sure. And before anyone says "You can't adventure!" ...I would like to politely ask you, to come over here, and make me stop adventuring. Because I'm going to. I'm going out there, and the NPC's won't even miss me. It will be like I never left.

That's a narrow minded view.
No one respects the concept of the warrior king.
