Becoming a Thane : V

So I read you can become a thane. First of all how do you think it'll work for example will you just get a title, will you get a nice estate, or will it not happen at all. Second how will it happen I think it'll either be a reward for finishing the imperial legion/ stormcloak quests or at the end of the mq.

You will not own any estates or land. A Thane is the "Hero of the Hold", sort like a high Chivalry Title. You can even have a Housecarl, that is the "Thane's Bodyguard".

At least it's know that by defeating the dragon that is trying to attack Whiterun you will became Whiterun's Thane.

That's the single definition of Thane. Thane is an Anglo-Saxon title, I believe. Why have the speific title of Thane in Skyrim when you're going to only utilize 50% of what the title comes with? (I have a feeling you'll get a nice little estate, with some bodyguards maybe, from a Jarl).

Empty titles have gotten old. My Dragonborn will be "requesting" further concessions from his respective jarl.
